Fanzine Workshop “Fragmented Culture”

This creative workshop entitled “Fanzine Workshop – Fragmented Culture”, held on February 15, 2025, was promoted by the Postlab Association, at its premises, and featured Miguel Correia, editor of Fanzine Ultra Violenta, as the instructor.

In the first part, participants were invited to learn about the history of fanzines, with special attention given to the evolution of these independent and “do-it-yourself” publications in Portuguese territory.

Revealing themselves as a creative means of cultural production and countercultural subversion, the themes presented in the fanzines on display—belonging to the Fanzineteca of Aveiro—are wide-ranging, from visual arts to football and music.

Next, participants were challenged to create their own graphic compositions using analog methods (such as collage and illustration) related to the workshop’s theme: “Fragmented Culture.”

The creations presented in the resulting limited-edition publication are the record of each participant’s countercultural vision:
