Details:
mister was published by the collective senhorio, which for five years promoted various artistic and cultural initiatives in porto.
a bit of history for context:
"the most megalomaniac projects remained only intentions. some were the subject of meetings, conspiracies, texts and drawings, lots of after-hours talk. meanwhile, money was needed for works and materials, rents began to pile up, life had to be made. we earned good money selling stuff and crap at vandoma, threw parties to help cover space costs, sold fanzines and drawings, organized concerts. amidst all this, the projects we most wanted to carry out fell through—perhaps due to loss of motivation, lack of agreement among participants, lack of funds, or simply because they weren’t needed. we had no program and weren’t methodical. a guess: we liked to occupy the space of things left undone.
over five years many people passed through senhorio, to work in the space, to attend meetings and projects that would never be realized, to sing and make songs, to drink and see what others were up to. it became a transition space between school and the world of (dis)work, a space of dialogue and conflict, lots of love and little programmatic sense."
in mister, diverse drawings, texts, logos, photo montages, comics, dictionary definitions, etc., are presented reflecting on the challenges of artistic practice.
