3/30 as part of rock’n’camp 2024, the exhibition travel through fanzine space was inaugurated on september 3 in castelo de paiva! in addition to the rock’n’cave fanzineteca collection, built over more than twenty years, the exhibition also featured the fanzines submitted to the 2024 fanzine contest promoted by the same organization. on this day, at the local culture interpretation center, where the exhibition was held, the workshop “rock’n’zines – experimental design and independent publications” took place, led by miguel correia, coordinator of the fanzineteca de aveiro and editor of the fanzine ultra violentra. participants were challenged to collaboratively create an editorial piece in fanzine format, exploring visual representations of their favorite band or song. also in this space, following the workshop, there was a talk titled “publishing to (re)exist: fanzines in portugal (1978–2024)”, with paula guerra (researcher and university professor).
