this is the fanzine of the josé estêvão school group, called laboratório plano, created within the framework of the national arts plan. laboratório plano is a space dedicated to artistic creation. it prioritizes investigation, research, experimentation, discovery, exploration, and risk-taking… it aims to foster creative freedom and encourage independent publishing and self-edition of personal projects carried out by students, both inside and outside the school. this is issue zero of laboratório plano. it resulted from an invitation by the pna (national arts plan) of aeje to designer miguel correia (a former student of this school, responsible for the zine city and editor of the fanzine ultraviolenta) for a first activity raising student awareness about the universe of independent graphic publishing. the 11h class created and gifted miguel correia a set of stencils which he later selected to shape issue #17 of his publication. in a collaborative creative process between miguel correia and the students, it was decided to leave the central pages of the fanzine blank so that each student could later create a unique and original work in their own copy. this issue zero of laboratório plano is composed precisely from the organization of all the works created by all the 11h students on those blank central pages, here presented in high contrast, pure black and white. this closes a first phase that allowed testing dynamics, experimenting with methodologies, and outlining guiding lines for the next issues of laboratório plano.
