The Broken Mold Writings series explores visual textures resulting from the combination of characters. These are “texts” written without any linguistic or semantic structure, using dry-transfer lettering (Mecanormas) on paper. The typefaces used, with their different formal characteristics — serif, grotesque, bold, light, uppercase, lowercase, varying sizes, etc. — were transferred onto the sheet of paper (the support), starting from a strategic point to align all the Mecanormas. However, only the damaged letters found on each dry-transfer sheet were used — Broken Mold — retaining their original positions.

This principle, adopted as a rule for all the compositions, determines the final result: chance is the author, and the hand is what makes it visible.
