It's No Longer I That Liveth is a book about being thirteen years old in 1986. It recounts several months in the life of Francisco Ferreira, between the Lisbon region and Évora.
Francisco Ferreira is at the worst possible age. An age when the God of childhood no longer exists, and there is not yet another God to take His place. An age when one no longer plays, yet has not made any true friends. A nihilistic age. An age of emptiness.
Even so, Ferreira discovers something, something to hold on to.
