the winners of the 2023 edition of the national school newspapers contest, promoted by público na escola, have been announced. among the best group newspapers, the awarded titles were escrita irrequieta, from the branca school group, albergaria-a-velha (1st place), and comunica, from the freixo school group, ponte de lima (2nd place). regarding the individual school newspapers highlighted by the contest jury, the winners were se bem nos lembramos, from vitorino nemésio secondary school, praia da vitória (1st place), and coisas b(r)oas, from são pedro secondary school, vila real (2nd place). according to the público newspaper, “in this edition of the contest, the winners were selected from around one hundred eligible projects that applied. in total, there were four main awards and six special prizes, which this year featured a new one: the 25th of april prize, granted by the commemorative commission of the 50th anniversary of april 25th.”
