This was the third edition of the exhibition, presented as part of the programme of the 50th Aveiro Book Fair. It took place in the former Aveiro Railway Station building (East Room) from 1 to 31 August 2026.

This travelling edition of the Saltimbancos Artistlibroj exhibition featured 72 works by 77 artists from 16 countries (Germany, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Spain, the United States, France, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal — including 17 artists from Aveiro —, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Taiwan).

The exhibition opened on Saturday, 1 August 2026, at 6:00 pm.
This was followed at 6:30 pm by a guided tour led by curator Miguel Correia, offering an overview of the exhibition and an introduction to the works on display, the concepts underpinning each piece, and their respective artists.

The exhibition was held at the former Aveiro CP Railway Station building.
A true landmark of the city of Aveiro, the building occupies a privileged location near one of the city’s main gateways. Its two façades are adorned with 59 traditional Portuguese azulejo tile panels depicting local occupations, notable figures, and landscapes from the city, the region, and the country.
This emblematic Aveiro venue is managed by the Municipality of Aveiro.

On 15 August, an Urban Sketching gathering took place at Largo da Estação de Aveiro. Organised by ASk – Aveiro Sketchers, the event brought together local participants, as well as members of PoSk – Porto Sketchers and MoSk – Montemor Sketchers.
The gathering encouraged participants to document several of the city’s emblematic buildings through drawing and culminated in a visit to the Saltimbancos Artistlibroj exhibition, where they had the opportunity to explore a selection of graphic diaries and the other works on display.

On 29 August 2026, a four-hour Mail Art workshop entitled “TIME CAPS LOCK” took place at the Atlas Building in Aveiro. Part of the programme of the 50th Aveiro Book Fair and the Saltimbancos Artistlibroj exhibition, the workshop was led by Miguel Correia and resulted in the collaborative publication Time Caps Lock #4.
Based on 16 graphic elements produced by each of the 12 participants, an assembling box measuring 14 × 18.5 × 2.8 cm was created, giving form to a publication in which each copy brings together and carries fragments contributed by everyone, transforming individual contributions into a shared object and a collective memory of the experience.

This was the second edition of the exhibition, held at the University of Aveiro Library (Helène de Beauvoir Room) from 4 May to 1 July 2026.

The exhibition opened on Monday, 11 May 2026, at 5:00 pm. This was followed at 5:30 pm by a guided tour led by curator Miguel Correia, offering an overview of the exhibition and an introduction to the works on display, the concepts underpinning each piece, and their respective artists.

The exhibition was held in the Helène de Beauvoir Room, located within the University of Aveiro Library building. This iconic building was designed by Álvaro Siza Vieira and inaugurated in 1995, standing as a landmark of modern architecture at the heart of the university campus. The room honours the French painter Hélène de Beauvoir, following the donation of her works to the University of Aveiro. The space opened to the public in 1995, coinciding with the inauguration of the Library.

The occasion also provided an opportunity for a round-table discussion at 6:30 pm, entitled:
“Artist’s Book: A Borderless Dialogue between Art and Design”.
With the participation of: Ana Margarida Ramos (Full Professor and Head of the Department of Languages and Cultures at the University of Aveiro), Miguel Correia (Curator of the exhibition and Coordinator of the Fanzineteca de Aveiro), and Cristina Cortês (Director of the Library, Documentary Information and Museology Services at the University of Aveiro).

Throughout the exhibition, a number of groups visited the exhibition, primarily students from the University of Aveiro, as well as students from several schools across the city.
Among them were students from José Estêvão Secondary School, from two classes—one Year 10 and one Year 12—who visited the exhibition accompanied by four teachers as part of their school’s activities day.

This was the first public presentation of the SALTIMBANCOS ARTISTLIBROJ exhibition.
It took place from 24 April to 21 June 2025 at the Library of Gafanha da Nazaré Secondary School
This exhibition featured 59 national and international artists who contributed a diverse range of works, including graphic diaries, artist’s books, artzines, and Mail Art projects.
The collection on display belongs to the FANZINETECA DE AVEIRO and MAILART.pt.
It also includes contributions from Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora and from the private collections of some of the artists represented.
The host institution was the Gafanha da Nazaré School Group.
