- The third issue of Ploc!, edited by José de Matos-Cruz, reappears with a revised subtitle, "Revista de Banda Desenhada" ("Comics Magazine"), and demonstrates a significant improvement in quality compared with previous issues. This is immediately apparent in its striking and compelling cover, featuring Valentina against a red background.
The editorial takes the form of comic strips created by Zé Marta and Al Bonjour. Following the presentation of the 1973 St. Michel Award to Sidney Jordan, his series Jeff Hawke is highlighted in an article by António Amaral.
Matos-Cruz introduces Brazilian cartoonist Ziraldo through the immensely powerful "Super-Nacional". This is followed by an article on Guido Crepax's Valentina, accompanied by four pages of comics by the Italian artist.
"Do Ponto Zero ao Alguma Coisa" ("From Point Zero to Something") is a brief overview of several comics-related events that took place in 1973, marking the first steps in the development of the medium in Portugal. Vasco Granja emerges as one of its leading promoters and advocates, organising a showcase at FIL, producing the fanzine Quadrinhos and staging an exhibition. The article also mentions the emergence of Aleph and the publication of Wanya by Nelson Dias and Augusto Mota.
"A Ideossincrasia dos Comix Underground" ("The Idiosyncrasies of Underground Comix"), an article by J. Matos-Cruz, explores American alternative comics, placing them within a broader cultural and social movement encompassing the Beat Generation, the hippie movement, anti-Vietnam War protests and the counterculture.
Al Bonjour's comic "P3" depicts a kind of galactic battle between the third issue of Ploc! and the political and intellectual projectiles launched by Aleph.
This is followed by an extensive interview with comics creator Jayme Cortez, accompanied by the publication of a previously unpublished instalment of O Retrato do Mal ("The Portrait of Evil").
"Pearl" is a single-page comic by João José Monsanto dedicated to the late Janis Joplin. The issue concludes with a small gallery of fantastical illustrations by American artist Kenneth Smith.
