Artist’s Edition

Zine Imergencial #1 emerged suddenly, in a state of profound unease, on the first day of the state of emergency declared in Portugal, which ran from 18 March to 4 May 2020.

It grew from the firm belief that we need to stay together — the further apart, the better.

Zine Imergencial #1 is an artist’s edition that is both singular and collective. In addition to Mide Plácido’s own visual contribution, it includes contributions from various enthusiasts of Visual Arts and Writing, as well as from people who expressed a firm desire to participate in the project, with no selection process.

In total, 26 people from Portugal, as well as Spain, Germany and Brazil, responded to the call launched through social media.

Zine Imergencial #1 is a print-on-demand edition with 45 numbered pages, printed on recycled paper.
